Paddle sports introduction
Paddle sports are suitable for people of all ages and abilities, it is also a great all-inclusive activity for the whole family, even your dog can even join in!
We run scheduled sessions at the Adur Centre, depending on tide times or contact us for a private session or group booking.  Contact us to discuss joining us on a paddle sport event or expedition.

For all sessions please bring your own footwear and of course a towel for showering afterwards.

Canoe and Kayak sessions
Consider learning the ancient and skilled sport of kayaking started by the Inuit people of Greenland and the First Nation people of Canada, who used these skills originally for their survival. Starting off on our friendly and easy to use Sit on Top kayaks or Canadian Canoes learn the basics of boat handling skills on the water. Once mastered consider progressing your skills with our more traditional kayaks or canoes that can be used for touring on the River Adur and more adventurous journeys.
Canoe and Kayak Taster sessions
Choose what type of boat you’d like to try – Canoe, Sit on Top Kayak or Traditional Kayak. We schedule our sessions during High Water times to give you a relaxed and positive introduction to this highly enjoyable activity that you can enjoy all round the UK. Sessions last approx. 2 hours and include all equipment required. Please see our facebook page for videos and photos of recent sessions.
Canoe and Kayak coaching
Interested in developing your personal skills and gaining more independence in your boat? Taking part in the British Canoeing Star Awards gives you focussed aims and objectives with achievable outcomes. We can provide training and assessment courses for 1, 2 and 3 star awards. Successful candidates are awarded certificates that can be used as proof of competence for employment such as instructor qualifications. SUP (Stand Up Paddleboarding)
The fastest growing watersport, stand up paddleboarding, or SUP, is taking the world by storm, and it’s easy to see why. In just a 2hr taster session complete novices can be up and paddling, and then once you’re up, you’re hooked and you’re off. With SUP your options are endless, you can adapt depending on your mood and weather conditions! From a quiet and tranquil paddle taking you closer to nature as you explore inland waterways through to the adrenalin rush as you SUP Surf to the sheer stamina required for or a long distance endurance event. You can even take your regular Yoga/Pilates and Fitness classes onto a SUP to really challenge your core and the intensity of your workout.
SUP Intro: In this 2hr session scheduled an hour either side of high tide when the water is typically at its calmest, you will learn all you need to know to get safely and confidently out on the water. After an initial land briefing we spend as much time as possible on the water learning various paddling and turning techniques, self-recovery and self-rescue, and paddling in a changing environment.

Please arrive 15mins before the scheduled start time to ensure you are kitted up and ready. Use of equipment is included in the price.
SUP Beginners: Once you have completed your 2hr SUP Intro session you'll want to spend as much time on the water as possible to improve your technique and gain confidence. These sessions, again scheduled around high tide, offer 2hr of water based SUP practice with a qualified and experienced instructor who will help guide and correct your technique as you paddle.
SUP Progressions: Now that you've mastered the basics and have been out on the water in various conditions, you'll be keen to learn more about how to get the best from your SUP experience. Whether you are keen to tour, surf, sprint or endurance race with your SUP, these sessions will focus on a particular skill to add to your repertoire. SUP Fitness: This fitness class is so much more fun than going to the gym! Combining the SUP and land-based exercises this full body circuit work out helps build stamina, strengthens and conditions. Add to your weekly workout schedule or perfect as a one-off for hens/stags and special occasions.
