Mountain Biking

Please read this information carefully before hiring a bike from us.

The package includes bike hire, helmet, lock, puncture repair kit, spare inner tube, pump and basic tool kit. We will be happy to advise on how to use these before you leave.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

Bikes cannot be hired until the hire form has been completed and payment has been received. You make the payment and complete and sign the hire form when the bikes are delivered to you. We accept payment by credit/debit card only.

HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Proof of identity must be provided on delivery of your bicycles and accessories, e.g. driving licence, passport.

We record key personal details e.g. name, home address, holiday address, mobile phone number.

A damage deposit of £200 per bike is required when hiring equipment. This deposit can be paid in cash or by preauthorised card payment. Cash deposits will be refunded when the bike is returned and is in satisfactory condition. Preauthorised card deposits on a debit/debit card (not pre-payed cards) mean that the sum of money is blocked for a few days after the hire before lapsing. Using a credit card reduces the credit limit by this sum for a few days.

Please cycle sensibly, with respect for others and the natural habitat. Cyclists are expected to follow the Highway Code.

Anyone cycling in a discourteous or unsafe manner while in possession of Adur Centre equipment will have the equipment repossessed by the Adur Centre with no refund of hire charges.

Cycle helmets are loaned free of charge and all cyclists are strongly advised to use them. 

Young persons (age 17 or younger) will only be issued with equipment when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Cycles should be locked to a permanent fixture whenever left unattended. The method of securing should include the front wheel and frame. Theft will be the responsibility of the hirer who will be charged for replacement of the bicycle and its accessories.

Please note, the Adur Centre reserves the right to charge the hirer for excessive wear and tear/damage to the equipment as detailed below:

Bike & Helmet:   £40                           

Punctured tyres:   £5/tyre                   

Broken chain:   £40                     

Bent rear mech:   £55                 

Buckled wheels:   £75                 

Broken gear/brake levers:   £25/lever 

Broken handlebars:   £70             

Written off bike:   £300                 

All equipment must be returned to the Adur Centre at the time agreed. We reserve the right to make an additional charge for late returns.

The Adur Centre reserves the right not to hire equipment to an individual.
